I checked the ingredients on the Shikai products -- the shower gels all contain oats, and some of the shampoos and conditioners contain soy protein and shea. There are some varieties that appear to be allergen-free. I'll have to try it!Colettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08246719800332561032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1434787495961507027.post-11609340733116068272011-04-19T01:18:42.925-04:002011-04-19T01:18:42.925-04:00Hmm, I'm not sure off hand if they are wheat, ...Hmm, I'm not sure off hand if they are wheat, soy, and nut-free (they are plant-based, so dairy- and egg-free), but I use and am happy with Shikai. I use their Everyday Shampoo and Color Reflect Detangler Spray. Both can be had for a good price online, and seem to work well for me.Alisa Fleminghttp://www.alisacooks.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1434787495961507027.post-54758832948766862332011-04-18T19:23:33.408-04:002011-04-18T19:23:33.408-04:00Jennifer is Always Sick -- Yes -- almond oil, as w...Jennifer is Always Sick -- Yes -- almond oil, as well as shea and other nuts are frequently used in haircare and body wash (as well as wheat and soy). The problem seems to be getting worse as manufacturers are avoiding parabens. You might actually do better with the chemical lines than the ones called "all natural." That said, the cross-contamination varies. You really have to check out each product. Not everyone who has a food allergy will have a skin reaction though, but if you/your daughter are prone to that I would avoid them.Colettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08246719800332561032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1434787495961507027.post-21201534510270426482011-04-18T12:45:33.260-04:002011-04-18T12:45:33.260-04:00I have noticed that there are a lot of haircare an...I have noticed that there are a lot of haircare and body wash products that contain almond oil. This is good for people who aren't allergic, but I wonder if the products are produced on the same equipment and if they are required to claim that on the product packaging. Example - Tresemme, Head and Shoulders and Oil of Olay all have at least one product with almond oil, but others that don't contain it. Is it possible there is cross contamination that could cause an almond allergic individual to become seriously ill or cause skin conditions?Jennifer is Always Sickhttp://www.alwayssick.comnoreply@blogger.com
